Setting up AWS to use Amazon Lightsail

Requirements:

  1. Resides in a country that is not sanctioned
  2. Credit card
  3. Enabling and Setting up MFA

Problem statement:

The misadventures started when attempting to migrate this blog from webhost to AWS. Amazon Lightsail was used as it was an easier option and it is friendly for the wallet.

Request to have AWS to increase the quota for my AWS account. Started on 31st July 2023. After login into the dashboard of AWS web console, click on your user name on the upper right, then click Service Quotas.

After the service quota is loaded, select the Service which you need to quota increased, in this case it is increasing the quota of Amazon Lightsail

For this case, instances quota limit is needed. Hence, type instance.

Proceed to fill up the Service Quota Request form.

With any luck that you have enabled MFA for your main account, your account service quota will be updated in 24 hours.

If not work with the AWS Support to resolve the issue. I am glad that AWS Support did not forced me to opened a new ticket to complete the quota. Kudos to AWS Support.
